Walking Forward (Tocando em Frente) ♫

Walking Forward (Tocando em Frente) ♫

1990.

Walking Forward –   (Tocando em Frente) is a song by Brazilian singers and composers Almir Sater and Renato Teixeira and is considered a classic of country music in Brazil.

Almir Eduardo Melke Sater (Campo Grande), November 14, 1956[1]) is a Brazilian guitarist, singer, composer, actor and instrumentalist.

His style is characterized by experimentalism. It adds a typically country sound to the 10-string viola, also with influences from the border cultures of its state, such as Paraguayan and Andean music, at the same time reflecting popular and erudite traits.

With more than 30 years of career and 10 solo albums recorded, Almir became one of those responsible for preserving the 10-string viola.[2] The musician added a more sophisticated touch to the instrument, seasoned with foreign styles such as blues, rock and folk, a mixture of folk, classical and popular music.

Lyrics

I walk slowly
Because I was once in a rush.

I carry this smile
Because I’ve cried so much.

Today, I feel stronger,
Maybe even happier, who knows?
But I only carry one certainty:
How little I know,
Or perhaps, how little I understand.

Knowing the ways, the early mornings,
The taste of pasta and apples.
It takes love to make the heart beat,
It takes peace to make a smile,
It takes rain for flowers to bloom.

I think that living is simply
About being.
Understanding the journey
And keeping on moving forward.
Like an old cowboy
Guiding his herd.
I’m passing through the days,
Along the long road, I go.
I am the road.

Knowing the mornings, the dawns,
The taste of pasta and apples.
It takes love to make the heart beat,
It takes peace to make a smile,
It takes rain for flowers to bloom.

Everyone loves one day,
Everyone cries,
One day, we arrive
And the next day, we leave.

Each of us
Writes our own story.
Every being in itself
Holds the gift of being able,
And of being happy.

Ando devagarPorque já tive pressa

Levo esse sorrisoPorque já chorei demais

Hoje me sinto mais forteMais feliz quem sabe
Só levo a certezaDe que muito pouco eu sei
Eu nada sei
