What’s CityBook

What Is This Project?

CityBook Beta is more than a website — it’s a prototype for a cooperative digital network rooted in real-world needs, freedom of expression, and human connection.

This is not just a directory. It’s a bridge.
For immigrants who feel disconnected.

1. A Prototype, Not Yet Final

This Beta version is our first open test.
It’s functional, but still evolving. Features may change, grow, or shift based on your feedback. We want your input to shape how this project develops.

We’re experimenting with:

  • User-led discovery: local businesses, services, tips, events, and stories worth sharing.
  • Respectful networking: built to protect individual freedoms without tolerating ideological coercion.
  • Civic storytelling: from parenting and migration to daily routines, values, and traditions.

2. Who Is This For?

  • Immigrants and expats, especially Brazilians, who miss a sense of place and connection
  • Creators, writers, small business owners who want to share without fear of cancellation

3. The Pain We Address

  • Feeling lost or disconnected in a new city or country
  • Searching for important local resources or cultural spaces, but not knowing where to look
  • Facing algorithmic invisibility or unfair silencing

4. What CityBook Beta Aims to Do

  • Help you find what matters: places, products, services, events, and people that fit your life
  • Offer a searchable, community-built network, powered by meaningful tags and stories
  • Build a culture of curiosity, fairness, and mutual respect
